Humanitarian Response
· Our humanitarian response areas of interventioninclude Health, Nutrition, Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH); Emergency Food Supply & Vulnerable Livelihoods (EFVSL) and Safeguarding.
· We document hazards and map conflicts and prepare activityplans to reduce impact and increase capacity to respond to humanitarian emergencies.
· We facilitate the development and delivery of the humanitarianpreparedness for communities prone to humanitarian emergencies.
· We ensure that governments, the civil societyand communities have the capacity to prevent, mitigate and respond rapidly to humanitarian emergencies.
· At times of emergency we facilitate, coordinate andsupport timely administration of rapid participatory needs assessments with stakeholders and Government representatives, and implementing appropriate responses thereafter.
· We ensure the rights of women, men and the mostvulnerable are upheld.
· We comply with the SPHERE Humanitarian Charter andMinimum Standards, the Human Accountability Partnership (HAP) Principles of Accountability, and the Guiding Principles for Working with Internally Displaced Persons.
Advocacy
Our advocacy thrust Is to effect positive change in people’s lives by influencing policy and decision-makers, and individuals to positively change their attitudes, behaviours, policies and practices.
We support and use persuasive tactics by developing good working relationships with policy and decision makers, using evidence obtained from research demonstrate solutions, while dialoguing with, and lobbying them.
· We play a convening role by bringing stakeholders together to solve societaland community problems.
· We ensure that the most vulnerable and most affected people are involved inthe determining, and implementation of the solutions.
